HARDWICK – At Town Meeting, only current and former selectboard members vied for the two contested seats on the board. The board has noted multiple times that the lack of new people interested in participating on the selectboard is a perennial problem.

Former selectboard member Danny Hale challenged Michael Deering for the open three-year seat and won 202-105. Two selectboard members ran unopposed for the two one-year seats, Elizabeth Dow and Eric Remick.

The re-organization of the board last Thursday yielded no surprises. Remick was once again returned to the role of selectboard chair, and Ceilidh Galloway-Kane continued as vice-chair.

Tonia Chase ran unopposed for Town Clerk, taking the reigns from outgoing Town Clerk Alberta Miller who had filled the role for over two decades.

All 23 articles passed, including the questions about allowing retail cannabis and integrated licenses.
