Police say a vehicle struck a house on South Main Street in Hardwick in the early morning hours of May 7 and the driver left the scene of the accident.

According to police, accident investigation determined that a 2005-2006 Honda CR-V was traveling north on Route 14 into town when it went off the roadway and slammed into the front of the house causing extensive damage. Police say they further determined that the vehicle backed out and continued traveling north through town and went east on Route 15. The vehicle is described as “light colored either cream or tan” and “will have heavy front end damage.” No injuries were reported by police.
